Cluster : What a cluster is : Dashboard window

Dashboard window
The dashboard contains multiple panels that provide cumulative at-a-glance information about your system and its performance. You can use the Dashboard window to view information about space utilization, the status of storage objects, notifications, system properties, and protocol operations.
The following panels are displayed:
Properties
Displays cluster attributes such as the cluster management IP address, Data ONTAP version, number of nodes and Storage Virtual Machines (SVMs) in the cluster, and the number of SVMs that are stopped, if any.
For storage systems running Data ONTAP 8.1 or a later version in the 8.1 release family, the System Health panel displays the following information:
System Health
Displays the overall health of the cluster and the health of each subsystem in the cluster. A link is provided to System Health Monitor.
The color and the state indicate the health of the subsystem:
•
•
•
System Health displays the status for the following health monitor subsystem:
•
sas_connect: The status of the SAS storage connectivity
For storage systems running Data ONTAP 8.2 or a later version in the 8.2 release family, the System Alerts panel displays the following information:
System Alerts
Displays the number of unresolved alerts that are generated for each subsystem in the cluster. Alerts are generated based on the status of the subsystems. A link is provided to System Alerts Monitor.
Alerts are displayed for the following health monitor subsystems:
•
sas_connect: The status of the SAS storage connectivity
•
switch_health: The status of a network switch configuration
•
cifs_ndo: The status of CIFS in a nondisruptive operation
Alarms
Displays alarms generated for the following:
•
•
•
•
•
Storage
Displays the total number of aggregates and the number of offline aggregates, if any.
